Souq Al Jubail (SAJ), one of the key projects of Sharjah Asset Management, the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah, received an official delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to experience Souq Al Jubail and learn about its facilities and services. The delegation explored Souq Al Jubail, a popular tourist and entertainment destination for families and individuals, and the largest fresh produce market in the UAE, in a bid to learn from the experiences and best practices in the market. The delegation was received by Talal Muhammad Manager at Souq Al Jubail, and several market administrators. The Saudi representatives included Nasser bin Khaled Al-Hawasi, Investment Adviser, and Abdullah Rahman Al-Hakran, Director of Investment Management from Riyadh Municipality.Talal Muhammad welcomed the visit of the Saudi delegation and delivered an overview of the most important practices and mechanisms pursued by Souq Al Jubail administration in managing and organizing the meat department, the fish department, and the fruit and vegetable department. He outlined the various features, facilities and amenities for visitors, including those specifically for families, as well as details of the latest central cooling technologies used throughout the market.The delegation also heard a detailed explanation from Talal Muhammad, about the daily operations of the fish auction, how fresh fish are received from traders, and how produce is transported and auctioned. They also learned about the types of fish available in the market, local and imported, and what steps are taken to prepare the fish. The group visited the seafood restaurant, Al Jubail 1441, located on the first floor of Souq Al Jubail with a stunning view of Sharjah Creek and the charming Islamic architectural style of the government buildings.The Saudi side praised the world-class facilities and services provided by the Souq Al Jubail to the residents of Sharjah, noting that the UAE is characterized by modernity and its use of advanced systems in all sectors, especially in the investment and commercial fields, which can benefit all emirates.
